Amanda M. Cannarella, PhD
I started my own babysitting business when I was twelve and, less than a year later, I was caring for nearly every child on the block. So no one was surprised when I attended university and fell head over heels for child psychology. As a student, I spent almost all of my free time working in schools, hospitals, and homes to support growing children. After getting my Ph.D. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology, I started to focus exclusively on research involving children and their families.
After years as a researcher, I realized that, as much as I loved learning about children, I loved actively supporting children and their families even more. Making a difference in an academic journal wasn't the same as making a difference in living rooms, classrooms, and communities. After struggling to build a career with either my head or my heart, I realized that I didn’t have to choose! Scientific, research-based guidance would form the backbone of an information-based, empowering support service for families. Be.loved was born.
Be.loved's mission is to provide full-spectrum and full-service support to expecting, new, and growing families. As an expert in child development and a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula, I provide families with the emotional, practical, and informational support they need at each stage of their child’s development. Uniting the head and the heart allows parents to be confident, prepared, effective, and awesome in all they do.
Because, parents, you are the tops, the bee’s knees, the cat’s pajamas!
And you deserve to be.loved.
